Networking and Infrastructure The Comms Company supply and install all local area network cabling from a small office to a large campus site, using Category 5e, Categeory 6 and fibre optic cabling all to ISO standards by our fully qualified engineers. We can also help you with a tailored wide area network solution (internet) with ADSL, ADSL2+ and SDSL technologies.
Installation and Upgrades We are happy to quote for your requirements and carry out a site survey to establish the best method of installing a high quality, resilient and future-proof network.
Cabling services are by their very nature tailored to suit the client, the building and the budget.
Typical services that we can supply are: ► Category 5E and 6 - for data/voice installations. With speeds of up to 10gbs, good quality certificated cabling is essential in any location. ► Fibre Installations - gigabit+ connection speeds. Commonly used for links between hubs or where ultimate performance between servers is needed. ► Wireless Installations - secure installation with wpa-psk encryption to protect your network from unwanted access to your computer network and equipment. ► Laser Installations - for multiple campus linkups. For line of site linkups of up to a few KM laser installations can provide fast connections otherwise unavailable. ► Site Audits - including testing of your network. We can give you a full health check of your network including helping with future capacity planning. ► Infrastructure - we can also supply, install or upgrade computer cabinets, patch leads, fly leads and all related equipment. Fault Finding Keeping networks running at optimum performance is essential for any modern company. With our qualified engineers we can find: ► Cable Breaks: Where either poor joins in connection points or outright breaks in connection have disrupted connectivity. Sometimes cables get old or soldered connections dry up giving intermittent connectivity. We have the necessary test equipment to locate and carry out if instructed any repairs / replacements necessary. ► Radio Frequency Interference and Crosstalk: Where radio frequency interference gets picked up and degrades performance or where cabling is too close together or improperly shielded we can test cabling for such leaks and provide you with an action plan to fix. ► Bottlenecks: If local area network performance is significantly degraded with busy loads or certain applications seem to make everything "go slow", we can monitor and evaluate where bottlenecks occur, recommending either re-configuration of existing network structuring or upgrade to relieve the problem. ► Equipment Testing: Testing faulty network switches, hubs, routers, network cards. Where equipment may be incorrectly configured or where network cards may be sending out spurious data packets, we can check with our test equipment to give a full picture of all the traffic flowing across your network and track down the culprit of any errors being sent out and fix accordingly. |
